College Prep 101 MG English 2021
Synopsis
College Prep 101 are enrolled in this virtual online course using Brightspace. Students are first given a diagnostic exam for English and Math, based on a common college entrance exam (ACCUPLACER). The diagnostic exam determines areas that a student may need additional assistance. Students are assigned to a college faculty member in English, Math and Study Skills, who designs an individualized plan of study (modules) for each. After completion of all modules, students are given a post-test to evaluate their improvement and the exit exam, which is the actual College Entrance Exam (ACCUPLACER). College Prep 101 is a self-paced course and students typically work with faculty from 4 to 10 weeks. Additional information on financial aid and scholarships is included in the course. Students that complete all modules and pass the College Entrance Exam are given a College Readiness Certificate and a copy of their College Entrance Exam score. They are also eligible for scholarships to South University.Course Overview
College Prep 101, an online virtual course designed for recent high school graduates, high school juniors and seniors to improve their English, Math and Study Skills. The course provides one-on-one instruction by college faculty based on a diagnostic exam given to students that identifies areas in English, math and study skills that need strengthening. Additional modules will help prepare students to be successful in college and provide information about financial aid and scholarships. The course is self-paced and available at no charge to any student, regardless of where they choose to attend college.
