Contract Tracing Course FAQs

What does this course cover?
In this course you will learn about the role of contact tracers and how they can serve their communities by tracking and monitoring COVID-19 and its spread.


How much does this course cost?
This course can be completed at South University at no charge.


How do I get a certificate once I pass this course?
In order to complete this course, you will be required to complete all course assessments with a score of 80% or higher.  Once this has occurred, you will be linked to a course completion certificate, which you can then print off for your records.


What are the requirements for a contact tracer position?
The requirements to be a contact tracer vary by state and organization.  This course was built using guidance from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) related to training contact tracers.  For more information related to these requirements, please visit the Contact Tracing site at the CDC.

College Prep FAQs

What is the College Prep Program?

The College Prep Program was created to assist with helping students with potential learning loss during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The enrichment program allow students who participate, to work one on one with instructors through customized and personalized learning sessions in Math, Reading, and Study Skills.  

I'm not a senior yet, can I still participate?

Yes, this program is open to juniors (11th grade students)

How long does the program take to complete?

It depends, but typically students spend from 6 weeks to 10 weeks in College Prep 101.

If I participate in the College Prep am I enrolled at South University as a student?

No, to participate in the College Prep student you are not enrolled/matriculate automatically into a degree granting program. To enroll, a student can contact the admissions department at (334-395-8805)

Is there a fee to participate?

No, there is no fee for a student to participate in the College Prep Program

Am I allowed to participate in the College Prep Program for one specific subject?

Yes, if you only want to improve skills in Math or English. However, we recommend all students take both Math and English diagnostic assessments that will identifies areas that need strengthening. 

I'm interested in enrolling in South University after I complete the College Prep Program. What are the steps?

Will I be given an opportunity to take a “real” College Entrance Exam?

Yes, when students complete the course modules, and their instructors determine they are ready, College Prep students are given the ACCUPLACER at no cost to the student. 

What do I get for completing the College Prep 101 courses?

You will receive a copy of your ACCUPLACER scores and a Certificate of College Readiness. Also, if you choose to enroll at South University, College Prep graduates may be eligible for the River Region High School Grant.
